We have created an illabirate background for Tigerland Airsoft events based around a fictional conflict in Eastern Europe.

Time: Not To Distant Future

Place: Eastern Europe, Ruania & Kurplekekzhan

Situation: The peaceful relatively poor country of Ruania has been invaded and is now occupied by forces from the neighbouring country of Kurplekekzhan.

Forces Involved: Ruanian Resistence / D.A.W.N Special Forces / Kurplekekzhan Militia and Mercenaries

Background: Nov last year the Ruanian town of Virachev close to the Kurplekekzhan Ruania border was shelled extensively for three days and three nights. The town was then surrounded and a six hour running battle was fought, the surviving Ruanian militia vastly out gunned and out numbered fled to hills and forest nearby leaving the town to fall under Kurp control. Now after a three month campaign Ruania is now occupied and fully under Kurp military leadership.

After the collapse of the UN following the inability of it to function as a unit during the second Gulf conflict and the continued threats from fundamentalists and Al-Queda, America and Britain formed D.A.W.N The Democratic Alliance of Western Nations. It also is made up of several western European countrys.

Ruanian resistance leaders after extensive communications with D.A.W.N manage to secure its help and after only a year into its creation D.A.W.N forces find themselves engaged in conflict. The intelligence gathered on Kurp forces indicate that it is a largely ill trained force, basically equiped and armed. Though more indepth analysis uncovered a large proportion of western merceneraries attracted by the spoils of war and excellent wages, these men are led by General Peter Franx. The General was a ground commander of American forces during the recent Gulf war, during the final stages of operation Iraqi Freedom he ordered the bombing of a market place where it was believed artillery was firing from.

The weapon used was the BLU-82 Daisy Cutter, the bomb was originally used to clear jungle and create landing zones for helicopters in Vietnam. the casing is 6mm plate steel containing 5700KG of explosive, a watery mixture of ammonium nitrate and alumunium powder, when released this mixes with the air and forms a fine mist. when ignited the huge explotion insinerates everything in a 600m radius and the shockwave is felt kilometers away.

In the attack on the market place 300 civilians were killed and near by news agencys wee on the scene before Washington could get a statement out. General Franx admited nor showed any remorse during an inquiry held into the incident. He was posted to Washington but three months after being back in the states he resigned his commisionwith immediate effect. Taking most of his staff with him he took charge of the mercenary forces in Kurplekekzhan, upon hearing of his new post many disgruntled special forces feeling like a lot of the veterans of vietnam did left their postings and joined the general.

D.A.W.N have commited many special troops of their own to work with the Ruanian forces to attack and destroy vital enemy positions to recon and gather intelligence and to help liberate this once peaceful country.
